Oh what a night

Our "date night" in Vancouver included
 great slices of pizza
the world's best gelato
a sunset walk along the seawall
and Georgia

it was lovely.

Almost Famous

We have been known to spot the occasional
famous person in Vancouver

Snoop Dogg on Kits Beach

Berger ( Sex in The City) leaving the sea taxi

and I'm sure countless others I'm not cool enough
to recognize

The oversize sunglasses helped us
look the part.
Hey - When In Rome. . . or Canada?

Best Toy

We worried that a whole month away from home;
without any of her usual stuff (toys)
would be hard for Georgia.

Little did we know that a cereal box is the most interesting toy
in the world.

Thank you Auntie Linds for buying the Gorilla Munch.

Now our monkey is satisfied.

The joys of motherhood

Vacations are all about eating too much ice-cream
and doing other things you wouldn't necessarily give yourself
permission to do at home.
Like taking a nap.
A quiet, peaceful, luxurious midday nap.
This is what it looks like when Georgia takes a nap

Quiet, peaceful, and luxurious.

Almost angelic?

This is what it looks like when I try and take a nap.
Even on vacation.
Can't seem to get away on my get-away.
(Not that I really want to :)  )

Hailing a cab?

In order to meet our friends for a picnic dinner
we needed to catch a sea taxi.
So we raced along the seawall and made it
just in time.
We were delighted to be on the water,
Georgia was not so sure.

Colin graciously smiled picture after picture

until Georgia started to warm up

eventually flirting with the "driver".
She is now a fan of traveling by sea taxi -
especially if the "driver" is cute!

P.S. our picnic dinner was great - good friends and good food!

livin' it up in Kits

When we lived in Vancouver

this was our neighborhood beach
(Kits Beach)

I have taken many dorky pictures on this beach
This is just the most recent.
I love dorky pictures, especially when they include lifeguard stands.

Swimming, chess, popsicles, and the occasional cocktail with friends.
All necessary components of "the beach".

Georgia gave it a thumbs up.
(not the cocktail part twenty years to go)

And then promptly decided to take a nap.
She totally understands the beach.

Diapers full of sand

Georgia woke up at 5:30 this a.m.
We had "cabin" fever by 7:30 so. . .

we headed down to the beach

Georgia has been waiting to taste saltwater

and crawl through as many "waves" as possible

After removing her drenched and sandy outfit
Georgia decided that I too should remove an article of clothing

Daddy came through lending Georgia the shirt off his back.
AWWWW aren't Dads great?!

What a nice morning at the beach
what else should we do today?

fun in the sun

We made it to Vancouver

Our beautiful home away from home

and lots of

fun in the sun!

Until it rains - but that's not suppose to happen until Saturday.

We are so glad to be back!
